NaNoWriMo - My First Time!

So many firsts. My first post on this blog (not my first blog by any means). My first year to actually sign up for and not just think about NaNoWriMo.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, it's the National November Writing Month during which you commit/attempt to write a novel of 50,000 words in 30 days. It's not necessary to write a blockbuster (though highly encouraged), but rather an exercise in pushing yourself to write each day, to develop your writing muscles and your propensity to write regulary. NaNoWriMo (there seems to be some discussion on how to pronounce that!) is the cure for writer's block.

So, in that vein, I'm starting a new blog to motivate me on a regular basis. I've had other blogs where I wrote poetry, semi-sermons, and general rants about life, illness, and nonsense. What will I write here? I may do the same in the end, but my goal is to get back to creative writing, photography, or other artistic projects. It could come in the form of poetry, short short stories, impressions and reviews, and some memory traipsing to help with a memoir book whose spine is finished but who needs some fleshing out.

For now, I'll direct you to a very creative young woman whose artistic abilities seem to have no end, and who unknowingly led me to start these new endeavors. Check out her special effects makeup tutorials! And go see/listen to the inaugural song she and her band Fenix have put out.
